Is the solution to America’s division “think as I do”

Divisions in America appear to be along “labeled” lines. Is it necessary that we all think alike and accept all we dislike for the nation to be healed?  if not, why can’t divisive issues be discussed, asking divisive questions be accepted, and accept that moving ahead in common issues is constructive?

I don't think it is necessary that "we all think alike and accept all we dislike" for the "nation to be healed". And forums such as this, and others, to me, are a constructive way to discuss divisive issues and to hear "the other side" of issues. We can't all agree on all issues.

I am a member of a minority. And it is common and even "expected" for members of that minority to be to the left of the line. And yet I find myself, quiet often to the right in many issues. Sometimes it can be lonely. And then too, forums like this and others have helped me to sometimes change my opinion on this or that after having thought it through from reading what other have said on this issue or that. But I think it's important to think for one's self rather than mindlessly agreeing with a stance because we consider it liberal or conservative.  Every issue should be thought out and weighed

We should remember that this country has had divisive issues from its beginning and different opinions - strong opinions, from that same beginning and we, nevertheless, are the greatest country on the face of the earth.

I think it's good to differ but that's it not necessary to be ugly in the process.
