I mentioned, the other day, that I had gone to Urgent Care. But they didn't help me with the headache that I was having. So, I ended up going to the emergency room. And I'm glad I did because when I got there my blood pressure was 205! And it rose, while I was there to 216. They sent me to get a cat scan to make sure I wasn't having a brain bleed or that I didn't have some type of tumor or stroke. The scan came back fine but they were concerned about my blood pressure. So, they wouldn't let me go home. They put me in an observation room. They gave me two or three different liquid medicines to try to get it to go down. It eventually went down to 170.

Fortunately, one of the doctors that is affiliated with the Cardiovascular Group that I go to, was on duty in the emergency room. He changed my medicine from the one I had been taking for a year (which obviously wasn't helping) to a combination of two pills in one at MORE THAN TWICE the dosage I had been taking AND he added a third medicine. It began to go down so he let me go home.

But I have to keep a log each day. Also, they told me that I have to cut out cokes (caffiene) and salt and sugar. I hope by doing these things AND taking the new medicines, that It will go and STAY down. I'll know by taking the log and I will go back if it doesn't.

Look what they did to my arm while they were trying to get the IV in.

Also, I have always heard how bad hospital food is but that wasn't my experience AT ALL. First, they brought me breakfast (which I forgot to take a picture of). But it was SO good. There was a breakfast egg muffin and sausage and potatoes and fruit. I found it to be quiet tasty. Then, for lunch, they brought me a turkey breast along with green beans and mashed potatoes and banana pudding and more fruit. I was actually hoping that they didn't send me home until AFTER dinner but they did let me go home around 3:00 (about 24 hours after I had arrived).

Today, I added a most beautiful song to the Spanish Shorts up in the Highland Room. It is of a song called "El amar y el querer" made famous by the late Jose Jose. But it is sung my a young Cuban man names Elio Velez and his has an almost identical voice to Jose Jose. Be sure and click and there and hear him.

What a day!

First, I went BACK to the Urgent Care for my blood results (which they told me to come) and they did not have the results yet. So I had to go back home. They promised me they would call me with the results. I don't think I will be using them in the future.

Anyway, then David and I decided to go to Olive Garden for a late lunch, early dinner. he's been having some stomach problems lately and so he only had chicken with no dressing or anything but I enjoyed my favorite soup and Chicken Parmesan, which is what I always get. They brought so much food that I brought a lot of it home with me and in fact, am fixing to finish it off.

I added a beautiful song in the English Shorts, up in the Highland Room and also, a beautiful one in the Italian Shorts also. Be sure to check them out.

I'm a terrible blogger. Here it is June 17 and this is my first post for the whole month. I will try to do better.

Tonight, we drove over to Sugarloaf Mills Mall for a bite to eat at Athens Kouzzina Kitchen. We've been there several times before and I've posted about them before. But they are a WONDERFUL mediterranean restaurant. I posted some pictures for Atlanta visitors over on my TripAdvisor page

What a day I had: this morning I was at Urgent Care as the doors opened at 8:00. But the registration clerk could not get my Medicare number to pull up in her system. I knew I needed to call Social Security about that so I went home. But before going home, I went next door to Smoothie King for a delicious breakfast of Avocado Toast and a smoothie. Then, I went home and promptly fell asleep (I had worked the midnight shift at the hotel). After I woke up, I called Social Security to find out that the number that I had given the lady, was missing a digit.

So, I went back down there and it worked. I spent the afternoon there. They gave me two shots and prescribed me two medicines. But I already feel better.
