I never left the house Monday or Tuesday. I spent those days leisurely, lounging around the house except that I did send out welcome emails to our incoming guests for those days as well as answer some correspondence. I was treated to my favorite, crunchy tacos and fries. Yum, yum.

Today is my sister's birthday so I will be reaching out to her.

Yesterday, I added a wonderful performance of "The Greatest love of all", sung by the great British singing star, Shirley Bassey. It's over in the Highland Room. Do go there and hear it.

Yesterday, after sending out hotel welcome emails, I walked down the street for a bite to eat. I went to Vallarta Mexican Grill. It is a little "hole in the wall" that specializes in tacos. And they were very good, although the service lacked something to be desired. I've been there before several times and never experienced the lack luster service that I experienced yesterday. But the food was great. Then, I walked down to the Goodwill Thrift store in the same complex and looked around. While I was out, the hotel called me and asked me to come in a day early. The Night Auditor needed to go out of town. So, I went in last night.

Over in The Peachtree Room, in the Myrtle Foster Faulkner Memorial Hall, I added a great clip by Dolly Parton as she delivers the commencement speech at the University of Tennessee. I think it's GREAT. Check it out

On Wednesday, I sent out welcome emails to our incoming guests and spent a little time on new posts for this blog. And then, in the afternoon, we drove over to Golden Corral for dinner. Golden Corral is an American buffet with a full menu of choices, along with a LARGE salad bar and a great dessert bar. We PIGGED out. When we came back, I immediately went to sleep and slept the rest of the night and have just awoken. I found a text on my phone that after I went to sleep, David had gone to Krogers and that he wanted me to know that he bought me my favorite sweet, Peanut butter M & M's. I'm getting up now, to go find them. Yum yum,

And then, I will be sending out emails to our incoming guests as well as working on posts for my two sites. I have this site and then I have a "scrapbook" where I post pictures for people that haven't yet made it to Atlanta.

And, I have a You Tube channel with nothing on it. I have had the channel for several years and not done anything with it. I have decided that I will start making videos of places around Atlanta and post them on that channel and then, link the video to this site. But I don't know anything about making videos so it will be a learning curve, for sure

Today, I added a very beautiful song to the Highland Room. It's of the late Spanish superstar, Sara Montiel singing the famous "Nosotros". Be sure to click over and hear it

I've just come off of my weekend at the hotel. We had a large ball group with us. And they were SO full of energy. In order to keep their noise down, I had them to congregate inside of our breakfast room to watch the game they were wanting to watch instead of having them congregate in the lobby to watch it. You can't win for losing - I kept the noise out of the main area so as not to disturb our other guests . . . . but they ate all of the yogurt out of the yogurt machine and there wasn't any left for breakfast! Oh, the life of a hotel. But it was all good. They had a good visit.

So on Monday, I had no desire to go anywhere and neither did David and he didn't have time to cook because he was preparing for a party (he has a mobile bartending business where he provides bartending services to parties) so we ordered from our favorite Indian restaurant. Yum, yum. We both ate but neither of us finished so we both had leftovers. I had mine this morning for breakfast.

I'll be spending this morning sending out welcome emails to our guests and then for lunch, I plan on walking over to my favorite taco "hole in the wall" - or maybe my favorite tamale "hole in the wall". You know what they say about holes in the walls - they have the best food!!  . . . as it turned out (it's later) I went to La Pura Vida Taco & Tequilla, just down the road from me. Yum, yum.

While you can always arrive to my site, in general, by typing in TheCypressBuilding.com, if you'd like to skip a page or two and arrive specifically to this page, you can always type in alnatlanta.blog and it will bring you to this journal.

Thursday was my last day off for the week. I took a nice long walk in the area, especially in Mr & Mrs Geese's neighborhood. It's early Friday morning and I have learned that we will be full this weekend. I'll be busy for sure.

Then I came back to work on this site. I found and added a great little oral poem, "Life is what we make of it", written by the great Edgar A Guest, known as "The People's Poet". I put it in the Peachtree Room. Be sure to listen to it.
